We value every volunteer’s individuality, skills, and commitment. To help keep our programmes safe, effective, and well supported, we ask all new volunteers to complete a few simple steps before getting started. The process below explains what to expect.
The Volunteer Process
Informal Chat
Once you send your completed form to info@fifeinternational.uk, we will arrange an informal chat. This is a chance for you to learn more about our organisation and the volunteer roles available, and for us to get to know you, your skills, interests, and how you would like to support our mission.
PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Check
Some volunteer roles may require a PVG check, depending on the type of activity and level of contact with people using our services. If a check is needed, we will guide you through the process. This helps us maintain a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.
Agreements and Forms
Once the relevant checks are complete, we will ask you to complete the volunteer agreements and forms for your role. These documents outline your responsibilities, confidentiality requirements, and our shared expectations, helping everyone understand how we work together safely and positively.
We want volunteering to be accessible and affordable. You should not be left out of pocket for giving your time, so we will reimburse reasonable travel costs and other agreed expenses connected to your volunteering role.
Induction
We will provide an induction session to help you feel confident, informed, and ready to begin. This will introduce you to your role, our organisation’s mission, and good practice when supporting people who use our services.
That’s everything you need to get started.
